Breath

Into the clump of dust
God breathed
The man-form took a breath
He lived
He had eyes…could now see
Ears….could hear
A nose…..to smell
A mouth and tongue….
To taste and speak
Able to touch and feel
The world around him
God’s breath/spirit
—Ethereal/ether/air–
This spirit/air He blew
Into the man’s lungs…..
Suffused his blood…
Carried to every organ
Enlivened every vital
Caused his heart to pump
And his brain to activate…

As awakened consciousness
That meditates
Assigns meaning
Inquires of a hunger
The stomach cannot fill
Ah, yes,
It is the breath of God again
Which breath forms words…
God’s Word
The Truth
By only which
We live
