Love Til Time Indefinite

‘Good mornin’, heartache….what’s new?’
Lady Day sang so plaintively
And a young woman’s heart resonates
With love so raw and needy
For the object of her desire
A love so full of the taste of his skin
And the smell of his sweat
The sandpaper scrub of his beard
Upon the fullness of her breasts
His breath like steam upon her neck
Lips kissing between the ecstasy
And moans and words of lust she craves
But her ‘one true love’ stays only the night
A week or perhaps even a marriage
Spanning only a time
times and half a short time
Then samples the charms
of another’s arms

‘Good mornin’, heartache……where are you?’
‘Here I am!’, responds The True God
To gently massage your shattered heart
With balm of truth and light
To slake your every divine desire
And scent your life with beauty
I’ll suffuse flower petal fragrances
About your nose and lips
Pretty vines will then entwine you
With my unshakeable faithfulness
O come to me, my dear one
And sense what true love is
I will take care of your every need
And never leave you for another

Yes, O Jah, my dearest True One
Your love has proved to be sublime
My heart does boil with yearning
Emotion devotion and trust unbound
I hear your tender endearments
And taste both our tears of joy
So ‘restful is the odor’ of your ardor
The broken vows of lust I leave behind
And breach the walls around my hurt
As you have touched my core and being
O God
And become my heart’s delight
Become both my soul salvation
And my whole and sole desire
