One is born
One is weaned
From mother’s breast
And then the hearth
Soon one is sent out
On one’s course
Upon the fruited earth
Each moment’s joy
The time flies by
The hours too fast
The days don’t last
They form our months
Of toil and wonder
And years of cheer and tears
Each precious year
Consists of many
Blessed days
But we pass this way
As though a fizzled meteor
With dwindling moments
To give to our Creator
Fit in a moment
Take pause to show
A grateful heart
A humbled spirit
Our love aglow
For the Timeless ONE we know
Before our time must go
